Spent $40 on a Python course that was either a total waste or a great start

I bought a beginner course on Udemy, but the teacher went way too fast and I got lost after the first few lessons. Some people say these cheap courses are the best way to start, others say you should just use free stuff online. Did that course burn anyone else, or did you find a good one?

I bought a $30 course on JavaScript that felt like drinking from a fire hose. It made me realize the real problem is that most teachers have no idea how a true beginner's brain works. They skip the simple glue that holds the basic ideas together. I found better luck just searching YouTube for my exact stuck point, like "how to write a for loop in Python".

Hang on, you're calling a $30 course a "total game changer"? I've had sandwiches that cost more than that. Half those cheap courses are just a dude reading slides he found on Google. I'm not saying it's worthless, but a game changer is like finding out you can pour concrete in the rain if you cover it right. Not clicking "buy now" on a tutorial.
