Took me 3 days to find out my finish cuts were off cause of a loose leveling foot on my mill
Last week I kept getting a taper on every part I ran on the old Haas. I checked tool offset 4 times, swapped inserts twice, even reindicated the vise thinking it shifted. After about 11 scrapped parts I finally put a dial on the table and saw it drop .003 over 12 inches. Turned out one leveling pad on the front left corner had backed off and the whole machine was rocking just enough to throw the cut. Took 5 minutes with a wrench to fix after 3 days of chasing my tail. Anyone else ever blame the program when it was the floor?
