The week our shop's Haas VF2 decided to fight back

Last Tuesday, I was running a batch of 50 aluminum brackets and the spindle just quit, no warning at all. The service guy found a coolant leak that fried a board, costing us two full days of downtime and about $1500. It felt like the machine had a personal grudge, breaking right when we were already behind. Anyone else have a CNC that seems to pick the worst possible moment to die?

Man, does that ever sound familiar. My buddy's old Bridgeport had a real talent for it. Waited until the day before a huge job was due to just eat a drive belt.

Our 2007 Mazak did that last month.
