Spent $400 on a 'high speed' plasma table and the thing cuts like a rusty butter knife

I dropped $400 on that Chinese plasma table from Amazon last March and after 3 tries it still can't make a clean circle under 6 inches, has anyone else found a decent budget option that actually holds a consistent arc?

Did you blow through all the tips on the first try? That cheap copper eats up way too fast to keep a good arc. You pretty much gotta build your own torch setup to get any real consistency.

Hey @simonreed, have you actually tried sticking with the cheap stuff for more than a few cuts? I've been using those same copper tips for months and they hold up fine if you just clean them regular. The key is not cranking the gas too high, I keep it at a steady low and my arc stays solid every time. Building your own torch sounds like a lot of work when the stock setup works if you're patient with it. Maybe you're just swapping tips too soon instead of giving them a chance to break in.
