Saw a guy running a 1980s Okuma lathe at a shop in Dayton last Friday
Stopped by a job shop in Dayton to pick up some parts and the owner still runs a 1985 Okuma LB15 for all his small runs. He told me his new Haas sits under a cover most weeks because the old lathe holds tolerance better in his cold shop. Got me thinking about how much of my own setup time is spent fighting machines instead of just cutting metal. Anyone else keep an old machine around for the tricky jobs?
