Rant: That $40 coolant mister was a total scam
Bought one of those cheap mister setups off Amazon for around $40 thinking it would keep my bits cool on aluminum jobs. Worked okay for like 2 days then the pump just died mid-cut... lost a nice end mill because of it. Has anyone found a decent mister that doesn't break the bank but actually holds up?

Did you buy the one with the little diaphragm pump that screws onto a water bottle? Yeah those things are junk. I went through two of them in a month before I gave up. The only cheap option that's held up for me is a simple fogbuster style setup with a solenoid valve and a separate air line. You can piece one together for around 60 bucks if you already have a compressor. The Koolmist 77 or just a basic spray unit from McMaster-Carr with a good check valve will last way longer than those cheap all-in-one kits. Just make sure you get a metal nozzle not plastic.

Dude, I did the exact same thing with that screw-on diaphragm pump. Bought one off Amazon, lasted like three uses before the check valve failed. Tried another brand, same deal. I switched to a little fogbuster setup from Enco years ago with a solenoid and never looked back. The metal nozzle is a must too, I learned that the hard way when a plastic one cracked and sprayed coolant all over my shop floor.
