Lost 4 hours to a bad work offset
I was running a production part last Friday on my Haas VF-2 and kept getting a crash alarm on the second operation. Checked the program, checked the tool lengths, even rebooted the machine once. Turns out my G54 work offset was about 0.15 inches off because I accidentally bumped the edge finder during setup. Anybody else ever chase a ghost like that for way longer than it should take?

Did you double check that your edge finder wasn't bent or wobbling any? I had a similar thing happen on my Haas Mini Mill where I was .080 off because the tip had gotten knocked just slightly out of round and was walking around on the part edge. Now I always take a quick test cut and measure it with a mic before I start running parts.
