Just realized the school tour in Dayton last week was really a CNC pitch
Last Thursday I went with my nephew on a tour of a trade school in Dayton, mostly to keep him company. The instructor walked us past rows of old manual mills and then into a room with 8 Haas lathes that still had the shipping grease on them. He said they get new machines every 3 years and the old ones go to the local community college. Took me a minute to see it, but that whole tour was a sales pitch to get kids into the program, and honestly it was working on my nephew. Has anyone here ever gone the trade school route versus just starting at a small job shop?
