CAM software time estimate was off by 4 hours on a simple part
Got a job last week, just a basic aluminum bracket, maybe 40 tool paths. The CAM program said 2.5 hours total run time. Actual cut came out to 6.5 because I forgot to account for chip clearing and tool changes on the older machine. Since then I add 50 percent to any estimate under 5 hours. That little trick has saved my scheduling twice already. Has anyone else found their software's times are way off on certain materials?
