At 4,000 parts I finally stopped breaking taps on this one job
Been running this stainless steel bracket for like 8 months now, and I finally hit 4,000 parts without snapping a single tap. The first 500 parts I was breaking them every 30 cycles or so (maddening). I just slowed down the peck cycle by a tiny bit and switched to a different coolant mix, and it totally solved it. Anybody else have a similar win where you tweaked one small thing and it just clicked?

Dang, coolant mix really does make all the difference.

I switched to a sulfur-based cutting oil on 316L stainless and it was like night and day. Before that I was changing taps every 50 parts, now I get 300 plus easy. The right lubrication makes all the difference in the world.
