3 weeks ago I started blowing chips out of tapped holes with a shop vac before checking depth, and no more snapped taps
Ran 400 parts on the Haas last Tuesday and only broke one tap the whole run, which beats the 6 or 7 I used to snap fighting chips with air, so what do you guys use to clear holes before a tap goes in?

Man my buddy runs a little mill and had the same tap issue, switched to one of those cheap vacuum setups and his breakage just about stopped. He still hits em with a quick shot of air first if the hole is real gummy though. Whatever keeps the flutes from packing is the whole game
