Watched a print shop run a thousand menus with RGB images last week

They sent out 1,200 menus for a busy diner and the tomatoes came out neon orange because nobody checked the color profiles. Has anyone else seen a whole business accept that kind of garbage because they didn't want to redo the files?

90% of customers can't tell neon orange from tomato red anyway, so the print shop saved time and money by just running it. Those extra vivid colors probably made the menu pop more to the average diner walking in.

Honestly, I had a similar thing happen at a place I used to frequent. The owner wanted a "rustic autumn" flyer for a pumpkin ale release and the printer sent back this super bright, almost neon orange instead of the deep burnt orange we picked. At first I was annoyed, but you know what, people actually stopped more to read it. The bright color stood out against all the other boring brown and gold stuff on the board. So yeah, that pop factor can sometimes work in your favor even if it's technically wrong.
