Vent: why does everyone insist on RGB proofs for inkjet fabric?

I run a small print shop in Austin and I keep seeing folks send RGB proofs to their fabric vendors, then act shocked when the final banners come out muddy. RGB on screen has way more glow than any dye or pigment ink can hit, especially on polyester. I know it feels faster to skip the profile setup, but I've had three orders this month alone that needed a full redo because nobody checked the soft proof first. Has anyone else had to talk a customer out of trusting their phone screen for a 10 foot banner?

Honestly, is it just a thing where people trust what they see on their phone more than anything else now? I swear I see the same thing with my buddy who orders photos for his living room, he stares at the tiny screen and ignores the actual print until it's on the wall. It's like the glow of a backlit screen makes everyone forget that fabric and paper just absorb light differently. You're not alone, I've had to email people screenshots of the CMYK breakdown just to get them to stop sending me neon-bright files.
