Tried a 4-color process on uncoated paper and got the worst neon pink I've ever seen
I was printing a batch of 500 flyers for a local band in Portland and thought I'd save money by using uncoated stock. The magenta channel just exploded into this weird neon mess that looked nothing like my proof. Is it even possible to get accurate skin tones on uncoated paper or should I just stick to coated for people photos?

Oh man, that neon pink is a CLASSIC trap with uncoated paper. It's like the ink just soaks in and takes on a life of its own. I feel like this is one of those lessons that EVERY printer learns the hard way, like buying cheap toilet paper or trying to parallel park a minivan.

brown.susan nailed it. Neon pink is basically kryptonite for uncoated paper. Learned that one with a rush job at 2am.
