The day I sent a corporate brochure to print with neon green skin tones (whoops)

I was working at a print shop in Denver and a client's logo used a spot green that I forgot to convert to CMYK. It came back looking like a radioactive alien had joined their board of directors - the skin tones in their team photos had this freaky lime glow. Should I have re-printed it on my dime or made them pay for the second run (since they approved the proof)?

Heard a print shop owner say once that if the client approved the proof, it's on them even if it looks terrible. Live and learn, lol.

Oh yeah, that's totally a thing in the printing world and it's brutal. I once approved a batch of business cards that came out with this weird pinkish tint on the logo (thought it was just my monitor at the time) and the shop owner was just like "well, you signed off on it." Felt like an idiot for a week. Now I always check proofs under a bright light and on my phone too, just to be safe. Live and learn is right, lol.
