My save the date cards came back looking like navy blue mud instead of the teal I picked
Honestly I feel dumb even typing this. I set everything up in RGB on my laptop, the teal looked perfect on screen, and I sent it to a place in Boise that charges $60 for 100 cards. Got them yesterday and somehow the whole thing converted to a gross gray blue, plus the tiny white text on top is almost unreadable now. Do I just eat the $60 or is there a way to send it back and ask them to fix it without paying twice?
Wait, so you picked colors on a screen that glows and sent it to a printer and you're surprised the paper doesn't glow the same way? Screens make colors with light, ink makes them by soaking into paper, so what looks bright and shiny on your laptop turns flat and dull once it's printed. That navy mud is basically what teal does when it stops glowing at you. Plus $60 for 100 cards is already dirt cheap, which means they probably ran it through a basic setup with no color matching at all. Asking them to redo it free is like blaming the copy shop because your home printer and your phone don't show the same shade of green.
