Switched from coated to uncoated paper for my t-shirt mockups

I always used coated paper for proofing my shirt designs because the colors popped better, but last month I tried uncoated after a printer told me it mimics fabric absorption more closely. The greens and blues came out duller at first, but my final print matched the proof way closer than before - no more surprises. Has anyone else made the switch and found a good way to adjust their screen brightness to compensate for the difference?

i mean, is it really that deep? like you held up a piece of paper to a screen, big deal. i've never had that much trouble with coated paper myself, idk why everyone acts like it's the end of the world if the proof is off by a shade.
