My green finally came out right after I tried a tip from an old screen printer

I was over at my buddy's shop last Saturday fixing some t-shirt screens for him and he mentioned something about using a touch of yellow in the cyan base for certain greens. He said straight cyan and yellow can look muddy on dark fabric so he adds like 5 percent more yellow in the mix. Tried it on a run of 50 shirts for a local band here in Memphis and the green popped way better than before. It's such a small change but it made the whole design look cleaner. Anyone else ever mess with their base percentages like that?

Ah man, just a heads up - adding more yellow isn't really changing a base percentage, it's just adjusting your ink ratio. Your mileage may vary but I'd just call it what it is so folks don't get confused.

I see what you're saying, but I gotta disagree a little. In my experience, when you're mixing colors from scratch, bumping up the yellow does change the overall color percentage in the final mix, not just the ink ratio. Your mileage may vary of course, but I've always treated it as a base adjustment.
