A press guy in Toledo showed me a 3 second trick with my bandana that fixed my green problem
I was printing a run of 200 shirts for a local soccer club last week and the green kept coming out looking like swamp mud instead of the bright kelly green the coach picked out. I was on my third test print and about to pull my hair out when this older guy named Ray who runs the press next door came over to borrow some tape. He watched me for a second, then asked if he could try something. He took a clean white bandana out of his back pocket, folded it up, and put it right next to the print on my table. He said to look at my green next to it for 3 seconds, then look away and back at the shirt. I did it and swear the green looked totally different, way cleaner and less yellow. He told me my eyes were getting tricked by the colors around the print area and the white gave them a reset. I re-checked my ink mix after that and turns out I had way too much yellow in there from the start. Has anyone else tried the white cloth trick to reset their eyes when proofing? I want to know if it works for other colors too or if I just got lucky.
