That $90 mockup generator subscription flat out lied to me

Ngl, I grabbed a year of this mockup tool that promised perfect CMYK conversion for packaging designs. Paid 90 bucks up front and the neon green looked great on screen. Printed a test batch for a client in Austin and the labels came out looking like swamp sludge. Turns out their preset profiles were all RGB based and never told anyone. Has anyone else had a subscription tool quietly skip the CMYK conversion step?
