Rode 9 hours with a clogged printhead, then fixed it in 4 minutes

I was at a vendor fair in Tulsa last month, demoing posters for a school fundraiser. My Epson had been sitting for 2 weeks and I figured a quick nozzle check would be fine. Nope, the magenta was completely dead, which turned all my purples into some sad gray-blue mess. Instead of stopping, I just kept printing and telling people the color was 'artistic.' Finally I grabbed a syringe and some cleaning solution, pulled the line, and ran a power clean. It took 4 minutes and the next print was perfect. Has anyone else wasted a whole day before just caving and doing the basic maintenance?

Yeah this hits home way harder than it should. I swear half the stuff I put off doing in a day takes less time than the mental energy I spend avoiding it. I once spent an entire Saturday rotating my tires in my head, planning out every step, then my neighbor came over and did it with me in twenty minutes. Same thing with updating my phone apps or clearing out the garage, I'll walk past the mess for weeks because I'm convinced it'll be a whole production, then it's like fifteen minutes tops once I actually start. There's something broken about how we estimate the pain of basic maintenance versus just doing the dang thing. Maybe it's a pride thing, like stopping to fix the printer means admitting you messed up by not checking sooner. But honestly, the clogged printhead was probably less stubborn than my own brain.
