Hit 500 prints on my Epson 8550 and the color drift finally clicked

My cyan started reading 5 points off after 3 months of daily use, and it took me until print 500 to realize the auto nozzle check was the culprit, so has anyone else had their calibration skew because of those daily cleaning cycles?

Print 500 is a solid count, but three months of daily cleaning is basically a whole season of wear that most people never check. It reminds me of how my fridge filter gets swapped on a schedule, yet no one thinks about the water pressure creeping up until the ice maker dies. The fix is usually just turning off the auto cycle for a week and running a manual check when you actually need it, same as rebooting a router before calling the ISP.
