Gloss laminate vs matte on my banner order, the gloss won big

I run a small sign shop in Tucson and did a side by side test on 20 banners for a car dealership, half with gloss laminate and half with matte. The gloss ones kept the neon orange and cyan looking punchy after 3 weeks in direct sun, while the matte ones looked washed out and dusty already. Has anyone else seen matte fade that fast, or did I just get a bad batch of laminate?
