I finally stopped saving 3 versions of every file name
Used to name things like logo_final_v3_actual_FINAL.psd and still lose the right one. Two weeks ago I started using a date plus a single word system, like 0318_logo_revision. It took about 3 days to get used to, but now I can find anything in under a minute. Anyone else have a naming trick that actually stuck after years of chaos?

Ever notice how the same chaos shows up in other places, like my kitchen drawers full of old Tupperware lids I never use? Once you start putting dates on things, it kind of clicks that most of our mess is just fear of throwing away the wrong thing.
