Appreciation post: my 340 browser tabs are down to 12 after one small change
Two months ago I had 340 tabs open and never closed one because I was scared of losing something good; now I save each one to a tagged bookmark folder called "read later" and close it in the same breath, and the funniest part is I have only gone back to that folder about 4 times, so what is the one tab you keep open out of pure guilt?
Ha, hate to say it but that folder is just a tab graveyard with extra steps. I keep one open for a recipe I swear I'll cook and never do, but at some point you gotta admit the bookmark is just guilt in a nicer box. Closing it feels great though, right?
Wait, bookmarks aren't quite the same as tabs though. A tab dies when you close the window, but a bookmark just sits there forever being quiet, which honestly makes the guilt worse. I've got a folder called "read later" and @the_piper would laugh at how old some of those links are, probably stuff from 2019.
