Am I the only one who thinks one big inbox folder beats 40 nested labels?
For two years I ran about 40 nested labels in my email, one for every project and client, and I still lost track of things. Last month I deleted all of them and switched to one archive folder plus search, and I have not missed a single thread since. The nested stuff felt organized but it was really just a second job, since I was filing the same message in three places and still guessing later. I spend maybe 10 seconds finding an old file now instead of clicking through five folders. Has anyone else dropped labels for plain search, or did it bite you later when you needed to hand a project off to someone?
