Watched my neighbor in Boise swap his gas mower for a reel one a month ago, and I just did the same
Three weeks in and my Saturday yard work went from an hour of noise and fumes to 40 quiet minutes, plus I am saving about $30 a month on gas and the gym, so has anyone else made this switch and found the push reel actually gets easier after the first few cuts?
My dad had one of those old reel mowers in his garage in Nampa and I always figured it was just something you put up with back then. Cut my lawn with one for two months last summer and by week four I was done in 35 minutes without even thinking about it. You just get a rhythm going and the grass kind of tells you when to push.
