Tried eating local-only for 30 days and it messed with my head
I figured eating local food would be easy since I live near farms in Ohio. After 10 days I was sick of potatoes and realized I couldn't get coffee or chocolate nearby. I learned local eating cuts carbon but it's harder than I thought to give up stuff from far away. Now I'm trying a 80/20 rule - local most of the time but keeping my morning coffee. Has anyone else hit a wall with a climate change diet thing?

Stick with the 80/20 thing, it's a solid middle ground. I tried going vegan for a month a few years back and the first week was fine, but by day 20 I was sneaking cheese into my apartment like a criminal. The moral high ground gets cold when your stomach is growling. Having that one non-negotiable item, like your coffee, keeps you from bailing out completely. I ended up back on a normal diet but I still swap out beef for beans a few times a week, small habits beat big promises.
