My dad said to skip the electric car and just keep my old Civic for the climate.
He argued that making a new battery creates more carbon than I'd save, but after checking the numbers for a 2025 EV, that's only true for the first two years. Has anyone else had this debate with a family member who's stuck on old info?

Ugh, my uncle says the same thing about his truck. I mean, the data on new EVs is pretty clear after a couple years, right?

Honestly @roberts.diana, what data are we even looking at? It can't be that big a deal.

Doesn't your uncle still think paper maps are better than GPS too? @roberts.diana my dad swore the data on cell phones was useless until he accidentally left his at home for a day. Then he realized he couldn't even call his buddy to find out what time the game was on. Sometimes we just don't see the obvious until it's right in front of our faces. That EV data probably stacks up the same way after a couple of years.
