Kept seeing my neighbor's recycling bin full of pizza boxes every week, then I looked it up
Every Tuesday I walk my dog past Greg's house and his blue bin is jammed with greasy pizza boxes, like 5 or 6 a week. I always figured he was just lazy about breaking them down. Then last week I actually checked the city's recycling rules online and found out greasy cardboard gets rejected at the sorting plant because the oil clogs the fiber recycling. It's not laziness, he's been putting stuff in there that ruins the whole batch. I counted, my street alone has 14 houses and I bet half of them are doing the same thing without knowing. The real problem is nobody reads the little pamphlet they mail out once a year. Has anyone found a good way to actually get this info to neighbors without sounding like a jerk?
