Just realized my old commute was costing the planet more than my wallet

I used to drive my car 30 miles round trip every day, but after seeing the CO2 numbers on a city website, I switched to an e-bike last fall. Anyone else made a switch that felt small but added up fast?

Wow, how much CO2 did that website say you were actually saving?

Seeing the CO2 numbers on a city website is what got me too. I started hanging my laundry outside instead of using the dryer, and my power bill dropped way more than I expected. It's crazy how those little changes actually show up.

Man honestly I used to roll my eyes at people talking about small eco changes. Thought it was all just trendy stuff that didn't really move the needle. But when I actually checked the CO2 savings from switching to public transit twice a week it surprised me. The numbers added up to like 1,200 pounds of CO2 a year just from that one change. That's when I realized I was totally wrong about it not mattering. Now I'm the guy telling my friends to just pick one thing and see for themselves.
