Just realized my old block in Newark barely gets a summer like it did in 2019
Was back visiting family in Newark last month and my mom still has the same window unit from 2019, but now she runs it from June through September instead of just July and August. Three years ago we'd sit on the stoop until midnight because it cooled off, last month it was still 84 at 11pm. The city planted 40 new trees on our block, which helps, but they're saplings so the shade won't be real for a decade. Anyone else noticing their old neighborhood feeling hotter than it used to?
