I stopped flying to climate marches and started biking to city hall instead
Used to book a $340 round trip flight to DC for every big protest, and I told myself the cause was worth the carbon. Now I just ride 4 miles to my own city council meetings in Rochester, because showing up locally 40 times a year does more than one plane trip. Anyone else ditch the big national events for the boring local stuff?

Ha, so you swapped a $340 plane ticket for free bike rides and now you're the mayor of Rochester? Honestly that's kind of the move though. Nothing says saving the planet like yelling at city council about whether the new parking lot needs more trees. Somewhere a flight attendant is wondering why their favorite activist ghosted them.
