Finally swapped my gas mower for a reel mower this spring
After years of looking at it, I bought a used Fiskars reel mower off Craigslist for $40 and it cuts the grass just fine. My neighbor thinks I'm weird but I'm saving about 20 bucks a month on gas and it's quiet enough to mow at 7am without anyone complaining.

Neighbor thinks you're weird now, just wait til he sees you sharpening the blades with a file in your driveway like some kind of medieval gardener. 40 bucks is a steal honestly, I've seen people try to sell those things for like $150 on FB Marketplace. Just dont lend it to anyone, they'll hit a rock and bend the reel and then its all over.

Took me a while to figure out the file angle, but I just hold the reel against a brick wall after I wash the mower off... keeps the blade rhythm going without anyone thinking you're a medieval blacksmith.
