Choosing between a gas mower and an electric one this spring

I had to replace my old lawn mower last month and faced a real choice. I could get another gas model for about $350, or try a battery electric one for closer to $500. I went with the electric mower, a Greenworks model, even though it cost more upfront. The first cut took some getting used to because the power feels different, but it was so much quieter and I didn't smell like exhaust after. I have a quarter acre lot in Columbus, and the battery lasted just long enough to finish the whole lawn on one charge. My neighbor even came over to ask about it because it was so quiet. Has anyone else made the switch and found tricks for managing the battery life on bigger yards?

Honestly, buying a second battery just adds to the cost and hassle. My gas mower might be loud, but I can refill the tank in two minutes and keep going for hours. That battery anxiety on a bigger yard is real.

Actually, a quarter acre is pretty big for a single battery on most models. You might want to check the voltage and amp hours on yours. I have a similar lot and ended up buying a second battery to swap in halfway through.
