Appreciation post: our block in Portland got 14 apartments composting in one month
Almost every sign I see about composting says you need a backyard bin or a fancy countertop machine, and that kept my whole building out of it for two years. Turns out the city picks up food scraps curbside here in Portland, you just put them in any container with a lid. I put a note in the laundry room, and now 14 of the 22 apartments are doing it, which is way more than I expected. If your city has a green bin program, what finally got your neighbors to join in?
