Saw a bakery redesign go sideways in Portland over one font choice
I stopped into a local shop last Tuesday and watched a woman argue with the owner for 20 minutes about how the new logo used a serif font and she wanted script because her grandma's cookie jars had script. The owner kept his cool but I could tell he wanted to walk out back and scream into a flour bag. On one hand, the customer is paying for the rebrand so her taste should matter. On the other hand, she picked that bakery because of its clean modern look, so why hire a designer if you're gonna fight every call? Has anyone else had a client who loved your work until it was in front of their actual customers and then suddenly everything was wrong?
