Took me 3 YEARS to realize I was saying 'yes' to every revision for free
A client in Denver asked for their 8th round of changes and I finally asked for payment upfront. They ghosted me immediately. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize YOU were the one allowing the bad behavior?

8th round is insane, you gotta draw the line way before that.

Honestly I draw the line after round 4 or 5 at the absolute latest. The way I see it if you still haven't figured things out by the fifth meetup you're just wasting everyone's time including your own. I had this one situation where I went seven rounds with someone and by the end I was just angry and exhausted. Looking back I should have walked away after the third one when it was clear we weren't getting anywhere. The trick is to set a hard limit for yourself before you even go in and stick to it no matter what. Sometimes walking away early saves you way more hassle than trying to force something that's dead in the water.
