They wanted to see my rough draft as if it were already a real file so their boss would stop hovering, and that one dumb move forced us to lock the layout 3 weeks early instead of the usual endless back and forth, so has anyone else gotten a strange request that actually ended up helping?
Had a client in Austin pull the same kind of thing last year, she asked me to drop a fake "FINAL_v4" tag on a logo sheet just so her team would quit adding notes. That stupid filename change made everyone treat it like it was done and we stopped the whole redesign death spiral cold. Weird how a little theater can snap people into place way faster than actual project management. The fake watermark thing is even better though cause it gives the boss something to point at. Never would've thought to fake a draft like that but now I'm keeping it in my back pocket.
