Rant: client sent me a 47 page brand PDF, then a napkin sketch that worked way better
I spent two weeks building a full brand board off a 47 page PDF this client sent me, fonts, color codes, the whole thing. Then on a Tuesday in March she texts me a photo of a napkin with a rough sketch of what she actually wanted. The PDF was all stuff some agency made for her years ago that she never liked. The napkin took me 30 minutes to turn into a final design and she approved it in one pass. I should've asked her to draw it on day one instead of reading 47 pages of brand talk. Now I flat out ask new clients if they can sketch it for me. Does anyone else do this or am I just done with big brand docs?
