Vent: Tried the 'shop vac from below' method on a heavy flue blockage yesterday
I read about this trick online where you tape a shop vac hose to the bottom cleanout and suck the debris down instead of brushing it up from the top. Ended up pulling a family of raccoon droppings into my face when the seal broke (and yes, the smell was unreal). Has anyone else tried this and actually gotten it to work without a biohazard cleanup afterwards?

That reminds me of the time I tried to clear a clogged dryer vent with one of those long flexible brushes. I got about three feet in and the brush snagged on something, so I yanked it back hard and the whole thing came flying out covered in this thick layer of gray lint that looked like animal fur. My wife walked in right as it landed on the kitchen floor and she just stood there with this look on her face like I'd murdered something.
