That old brush I used for 8 years finally gave out on a job in St. Louis last month
The bristles just snapped off mid-sweep and I had to borrow a soot eater from the homeowner, has anyone else had a favorite tool fail at the worst time?

Exactly what I was thinking about "eight years with the same brush"... @oscarwilliams that's a long time to stick with any tool, but it also says a lot about quality if it held up that long. Most brushes start shedding or falling apart way before that.
