That new vacuum attachment I tried broke after three uses

Picked up a fancy rotating brush kit from the hardware store last month for 45 bucks. Second job I used it on the bristles started shedding all over the place. By the third sweep the whole head came loose and I had to fish it out of a flue pipe. Honestly I think people overhype these newer gadgets when the old wire brushes do the job fine. Has anyone else had luck sticking with the basic tools or am I just unlucky with this brand?

You are making a mistake by writing off the new attachments so quickly. I have had great results with the rotating brush kit I bought a few months ago and it has held up through weekly use on all kinds of surfaces. The problem might be the specific brand you chose, not the design itself. Basic tools have their place but they cannot reach into tight corners or do deep cleaning like a good modern attachment can. Sometimes you get what you pay for, and a 45 dollar tool from a hardware store is probably not top quality.
