That creosote log I used took me 4 extra hours to clean up
I thought those creosote sweeping logs would save me time on a flue in an old Victorian house last week, but it just flaked off into big chunks that jammed my rotary brush, adding 4 hours of poking and vacuuming to a job I figured would be done in 2.

and oh my god YES @jade618 i followed the directions exactly, let it burn for like 3 hours before i touched anything. but it still turned into these massive crusty sheets that peeled off the flue all wrong. had to stop every ten minutes to yank a flake out of my drill attachment. total nightmare. i swear it made more of a mess than just brushing the old soot.
