That creosote log gave me a false sense of security on a rental roof
I burned one of those chimney sweeping logs before inspecting a job last week, and it fooled me into skipping a proper rod check. Glossy buildup near the smoke shelf looked cleared until I poked the flue and found a solid 1/4 inch crust stuck over it. Has anyone else had those logs mask real creosote issues on older homes?
