One bad Tuesday in Boise made me rethink my whole brush setup

Did a sweep where the creosote was so caked I snapped two steel brushes before noon, then the homeowner asked if I was 'actually certified'. Anyone else ever have a job go sideways that fast from equipment failure?

Grabbed a bigger hammer and went to town on the worst chunk after the second brush snapped. Honestly, sometimes you just gotta chip away at it with a flathead screwdriver to break the crust loose, then the brush can actually do its job. Also started carrying a cheap spare torch for melting the stubborn stuff, but mostly it's about accepting you'll burn through tools on days like that. The homeowner asking about certification just made me laugh, I showed them the mangled brush and asked if they wanted to try finishing the job themselves. They backed off real quick.
