Had a brutal Tuesday last week that turned into my best day in years

Three calls back to back in the rain, but the last job was an old Victorian with a chimney full of creosote from a neighbor's hack job. I spent 3 hours scraping it clean and the homeowner cried happy tears when I showed her the before and after photos. Has anyone else had a disaster morning turn into a perfect afternoon?

Man, I just read something the other day that said most people give up on their day way too early. They let one bad morning ruin everything. Sounds like you didn't do that. You stuck with it and turned it around. That homeowner crying is the real deal, those moments make all the hard work worth it.

Yeah exactly, @ray210 nailed it with that whole giving up too early thing. I've been there where the first couple hours of the day just absolutely suck and you want to throw in the towel. But what I've learned is you gotta treat it like a reset button. Stop, take a breath, make a coffee, and just start fresh right where you are. That homeowner crying thing is no joke either. I had one lady tear up over a simple porch repair and it hit me harder than any paycheck ever could. Those moments are what keep you going through the rough mornings.
