You nearly missed a creosote build-up? That's the kind of thing that ends with firefighters in your yard. Calling cameras too much after a close call seems wild to me. The old flashlight and mirror routine has failed before. I'm siding with the camera people on this one.

Calling them too much is like saying seatbelts are overkill after a crash. You had a scare, so why risk it again with shaky flashlight tricks. Spend the money on the camera and sleep better at night.
