Vent: Why does everyone overseason their protein?
I had a guy send back a ribeye the other night because it was "bland" when all I used was salt and pepper. Keep it simple, people. If you can't taste the actual beef under three layers of rub, you're missing the point.

Agreed, the beef should be the star (not some spice cabinet dump).

Oh, absolutely! @briannguyen you hit the nail on the head. I've made that mistake before where I went overboard with cumin and chili powder and it just turned into a muddled mess. Now I stick to a light dusting of salt and pepper right before searing, then maybe just a touch of garlic powder after it's resting. Let the beef do the talking, you know?
