Worst day ever on a 4000 square foot commercial job in Dallas
Last Tuesday I was laying carpet in a 12 story office building downtown Dallas, 4000 square feet on the 4th floor. The building manager kept stopping me every 30 minutes to check the seams, and then my power stretcher broke right at 2 PM. Has anyone else dealt with a micromanaging client slowing down a whole project like that?

Managers who micromanage are the worst. They think they're making sure the job is done right, but really they're just making it take twice as long. Next time, try asking them to check the whole plan upfront before you even start. Tell them you'll lay a test strip and have them approve it, then leave you to work. That way they get their seam check out of the way and you get to actually lay carpet. And having a backup power stretcher or a good kicker on hand for emergencies has saved me more than once.

Micromanagers usually have NO idea what a power stretcher even does.
